Destiny or Fate, or what we call "Tadhana",
is the predetermined course of events considered
to be beyond human control. There are religious
beliefs
that destiny is determined by a combination
of human intelligence and divine will. There are things that happen in our lives that appear to have been decided even before they happen. It also happens in history. One hundred years ago, on May 17, 1907, through Act No. 1649 Marinduque was made a sub-province of Tayabas , and one illustrious man was appointed Lieutenant Governor. |

His name was JUAN MORENTE NIEVA. Nieva, whose name was etched on the first bridge built in the province under the American
regime (this is the colonial Nieva
Bridge in Gasan), held the position for nine years - from 1907 to 1916.
